The Forever Green sustainability platform and the Real Betis Balompié Foundation have carried out in the Guadaíra Park, located in the Southern District of Seville, a waste collection with the aim of caring for the environment, as well as sensitize society about the importance of not littering in the natural surroundings of the city.

This cleaning day has been possible thanks to the collaboration of Forever Green volunteers, the Telefónica Foundation and the OK Planet Association, which has provided technical advice to the Real Betis Foundation for the organization of this action. An activity coordinated with the Delegation of the Southern District of Seville and LIPASSAM.

Specifically, the day consisted of plogging in the Guadaíra Park, a combination of physical exercise – walking a distance at a good pace – while collecting waste from a natural area. This initiative is part of the European Goals project of which the Real Betis Balompié Foundation is part and which seeks to build a set of tools and instruments that any grassroots football club can exploit to measure its environmental impact, reduce it and carry out awareness-raising actions.

“It is the first time that Forever Green and the Real Betis Balompié Foundation have led an action like this and we are very proud of how the day has developed. Citizen involvement is essential in the fight against climate change and in order to continue building among all of us, a society that is aware of caring for the environment, ”said Rafael Muela, manager of the Real Betis Balompié Foundation. This action is also framed within the Telefónica 2021 International Volunteer Day, a celebration that aims to recognize the work that the entity’s volunteers carry out during the year.

“For us, sustainability and caring for the environment are an essential part of people’s development. Careful environments and responsible citizens make the social inclusion of disadvantaged people easier, and this is one of our missions as Grupo Telefónica ”, stated Carlos Palacios, global head of Social Action and Volunteering at Fundación Telefónica. The delegate of Ecological Transition of the Seville City Council, David Guevara, has also paid a visit during the development of this day.

Guevara thanked “the social commitment that Forever Green has with our city and with the environment, programming and developing actions of this type of cleaning in spaces of the City that contribute to generating in the rest of society that environmental awareness that is so much needed “.

Forever Green and Lipassam distributed before the beginning of the day gloves and garbage bags and the necessary tools to be able to do the waste collection that has taken place from 10:00 to 12:00 hours in this park in the Southern District of the Andalusian capital . The activity has been advised by OK Planet, an association dedicated to the conservation of the environment.
